The prestigious Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications (IIT) of the National Centre For Scientific Research Demokritos (NCSR) honored Optimems Smart Energy Solutions with the top prize of €10,000 at the StartSmart SEE accelerator program.

The Accelerator Journey

The competition was fierce.

Out of over 100 company applications for the fall 2023 cohort, Optimems emerged as one of the 20 companies selected to participate in an intensive three-month workshop series on entrepreneurship through the StartSmart SEE accelerator.

Following a successful journey in the program, Optimems stood out among eight startups — including Bitloops, Digital Bites, Games World League, Moverse, Orbito Travel, OptiCV, and Ratepunk — which advanced to the finals.

StartSmart SEE is a premier entrepreneurship accelerator dedicated to helping early-stage companies grow through hands-on workshops, mentorship, and networking opportunities.

The program focuses on practical business development, connecting startups with experienced mentors and potential investors to accelerate their path to market.

The Finals

The finals took place on December 13, 2023, at the central auditorium of the National Centre For Scientific Research Demokritos (NCSR).

Eight startups presented their solutions to a panel of investors and industry experts.

The event was held in the presence of Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias.

The top three startups were awarded for their outstanding achievements.
